For a desert environment with gorgeous red-rock and Pine Valley Mountain views, the Hurricane Valley has it all. There are four distinct seasons here, but it does not get as cold as most areas of Northern Utah in the winter. Therefore, it is an outdoor recreation paradise.
The beautiful Hurricane Valley of Southern Utah is a perfect hub to visit a number of the magnificent National Parks of this beautiful state, including Zion (19 miles away), Bryce Canyon (110 miles away) and Cedar Breaks (58 miles away). It is also close to Lake Powell and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Only 18 miles from St. George UT, the Hurricane Valley is close enough to enjoy the shopping, restaurants, medical facilities and airport minutes away, but maintains a small town quieter feel. The towns of La Verkin, Toquerville and Leeds are only a few miles from the town of Hurricane itself and provide more rural settings.
Hurricane boasts two State Parks, Sand Hollow and Quail Creek. At Sand Hollow you can enjoy varied activities including fishing, boating, water sports, scuba diving and 4-wheeling at one of the best sand dune areas in the State. For skiers, Brian Head Ski Resort is only 75 miles away. For mountain bikers, it is a perfect destination with many trails in Gooseberry Mesa nearby.
In close-by St. George there are two other State Parks, Snow Canyon and Gunlock. If an occasional visit to a casino is wanted, Mesquite is 45 minutes south of Hurricane and Las Vegas only 2 hours.
